What changed in the question catalogue on 1 July 2024

The second amending ordinance took effect on 1 July 2024. Ten questions on Jewish life, Israel and antisemitism were added — replaced in place, not appended.

The second ordinance amending the Einbürgerungstestverordnung was issued on 21 June 2024, promulgated in the Federal Law Gazette 2024 I No. 211 on 26 June, and took effect on 1 July 2024. Questions were replaced in place, not appended — which is why the total stayed at 460.

Ten questions on the new theme were introduced: four on Jewish life in Germany, two on Israel’s right to exist and four on antisemitism. If you are studying from older material, these are exactly what you are missing.

Accounts differ on the total number of questions changed — alongside the ten on the new theme, some state questions were adjusted for unrelated reasons. We deliberately state no total here until we have checked it against the Federal Law Gazette itself.
